答:

1.  Search 〔作名詞或動詞〕之後，常跟for 。例：

     The search for the lost plane is still in progress。

    〔搜尋失蹤飛機的工作仍在進行。〕

2.  也可說 in search of 。例：

     Scientists are in search of the answer。

     〔科學家們在尋找答案。〕

3.  還可以跟after。例：

     Many people spend years searching after peace of mind。

     〔不少人花費多年的時間，尋求心靈的平靜。〕

4.  又可以跟 into。例：

     They decided to search into the case。

     〔他們決定調查該宗案件。〕

5.  也可以跟out。例：

     We should search out the weaknesses in the argument。

     〔我們要找出該論據中的弱點。〕

6.  Search me = I don’t know = I’ve no idea = 我不知道。例：

     問：Why doesn’t he want to go? 他為何不想去？

     答：Search me ！He didn’t tell me。。我怎知道，他沒有告訴我。
