ESP_319 一貧如洗

Charlie 問:Put someone out put someone out of his misery

1.  Put someone out = cause someone trouble =

It  won’t put me out a bit if I drive you all home

2.  Put someone out of his misery = stop someone’s worry =

We were anxious about the result of the exam until the teacher put us out of our

           misery by saying how pleased he was with out work

As poor as a church mouse

1. = Be down and out

                  2. = Be hard up

                  3. = On one’s upper’s

                  4. = One’s hair grows through one’s hood

例句:With his company doing bankrupt, he is now as poor as a church mouse

Roll in wealth
